Message to Students

A butterfly is beautiful, and a stag beetle is so cool!…, I think so, when I was a child. Science is to study “why a butterfly is so beautiful?” using modern biological methodologies, gene manipulation, cell culture, histochemistry, electron microscopy and so on. I want young students to know “Science is interesting and enjoyable!”

Research Theme

Optic nerve regeneration after peripheral nerve graft in mammals
Cytoarchitecture of the neural retina and visual system
Rescue from CNS neuron death
Development, regeneration and morphogenesis of tissue cells
